Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the REALTOR® Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale (RAGFL) Charitable Foundation hosted 160 guests at its annual “Spring into Giving” fundraiser dinner and auction May 3. The evening raised more than $13,000 to support the Foundation’s mission.

This year’s fundraiser was held at the home of Mr. Daniel O'Flaherty, 2625 Northeast 37th Drive, Fort Lauderdale. The evening included cocktails and dinner, and featured live music, door prizes and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event benefited the Foundation and its various relief efforts. Items auctioned ranged from a seven-night stay at a resort of choice anywhere in the world and a prize package from the Florida Marlins, to lunch on Marco Island with private plane trip included and hot air balloon rides.

"As REALTORS® and members of the community, we want to help ensure all individuals have the opportunity to live in safe environments,” said RAGFL CEO Richard Barkett. “The RAGFL Charitable Foundation has helped communities rebuild after disasters and improved neighborhoods through the creation of children’s playgrounds and similar projects."

The RAGFL Charitable Foundation was established in 1987 to help individuals in need. Since its inception, the Foundation provided assistance to numerous community residents and organizations and, in the process, has channeled more than $350,000 for hurricane disaster relief and in excess of $9,000 for Tsunami Relief.
